10 Questions with Alexandra Policaro

Alexandra, if you could be any animal, what would it be?

I would have to say a butterfly, but one in which I could embody every pattern and color imaginable. I guess you could call that a “mood butterfly” – changing looks depending on the day. I also love how they embrace freedom and independence, considering I am very adventurous and love to travel.

Where in the world do you want to visit?

So many places! … but at the top of my list is Thailand. It looks beautiful and I absolutely love Thai food.

What are some hobbies you enjoy when you’re not dancing?

I am very passionate about health and fitness, so as crazy as it sounds, I enjoy working out and cross-training besides dancing. However, during my free time, I love hanging out with friends whether that’s going to the beach, walking around the city, or going on a hike. I also really like to cook 🙂

If you could only eat three foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?

These are three very random foods but definitely dried mango, salmon, and avocados.

If you could be an Olympic athlete, what sport would you compete in?

I am not really sure why, but I have always wanted to compete in track and field. Fun fact … I was in “Girls on the Run” (a running club) in elementary school.

If you were guaranteed to be successful in a different profession, what would you do?

As someone who is social and outgoing, I would love to pursue something in the realm of communications, or possibly another aspect of the arts such as acting or cinematography.

What is your favorite band?

One of my favorite groups is Emotional Oranges, an R&B band. It’s the type of music that makes you feel good and brightens the mood.

What is one of your pet peeves?

This is a hard one … and I’m definitely guilty of this myself … but slow walkers.

What is your favorite Philadelphia landmark?

Rittenhouse Square – it is a young and energetic area with lots of delicious food, shops, and the best farmer’s market!

What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?

The Road to Hana in Maui – so many beautiful waterfalls, black/red sand beaches, the BEST ice cream (also vegan) and banana bread, amazing sites, and overall great vibes!
