10 Questions with Eli Alford

1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

Laguna Beach, CA. This needs no explanation… just look at some of the
photos online if you haven’t been…wow.

2. What motivates you to work hard?

I feel blessed to even be able to work hard so my work ethic stems from
gratitude. Additionally, I desire personal growth and discovery which is
typically found through hard work.

3. What would you sing at Karaoke night?

I wouldn’t…I have such a fear of singing in public. Plus, I often forget the
words to even my most favorite songs. I love listening and dancing to music
but singing is an entirely different situation!

4. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

This is an impossible question because I am such a foodie! I think it would
have to be a smoothie bowl though because the best ones offer plenty of
textures, flavors, and nutrients.

5. What is your favorite childhood memory?

I joined a small, local theater group for children when I was young. We only
met for an hour or so once a week, but I savored every minute of it. Probably
because this was one of the first times I got to channel and connect with the
performance artistry brewing inside me.

6. What’s on your bucket list?

While there are many places I’d love to travel to, roles I’d love to dance, or
people I’d love to meet, one extravagant thing on my bucket list would be to
fly first class on Emirates Airlines. Unsure of when or how this opportunity
would come my way, but if it ever did, I surely would never forget it!

7. What is your favorite movie of all time?

My favorite movie is definitely subject to change, but I think Legally Blonde
and Crazy Rich Asians are two true standouts for me.

8. What’s a career highlight you’re proud of?

Well, my professional career is only just beginning! However, I am very proud
of some of my pre-professional accomplishments such as getting accepted
into USC Kaufman and being promoted to the Faculty Liaison position while at
USC.

9. How do you like to spend your free time?

Cooking used to be such a chore but lately, I have become so fond of it! My
family hardly ever cooked while I was growing up so anytime I make
something tasty on my own it feels like such an accomplishment. I’m
definitely no expert, but experimenting with ingredients or different
techniques gives me such a rush.

10. What’s the most exciting part of your job?

Well, any performance opportunity is typically exciting. However, I also think
it is so exciting that I get to do what I love most every day, dance. While dance
has been my passion since I first started, it has always been either an
extracurricular activity or my course of study. Now it’s my actual job. How
exciting is that?!? I feel so fortunate and blessed to be able to do what I love
as my job.
