Meet Christian Denice

About

Christian Denice is a dancer and choreographer from Los Angeles whose professional career includes work with Odyssey Dance Theatre, River North Dance Chicago, and BJM Danse (Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal). He was named one of Time Out Chicago’s top ten male dancers of 2010 and recognized by the Chicago Tribune as a notable Chicago dancer that same year.

Christian has created new works for institutions including Cincinnati Ballet, Moving Arts, Chamber Dance Project, University of Missouri–Kansas City, Ballet22, Marigny Opera Ballet, Nevada Ballet Theatre, DanceWorks Chicago, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company, Missouri Contemporary Ballet, Western Michigan University, Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company, Eisenhower Dance Detroit, Houston Contemporary Dance Company, Wright State University, Kit Modus, Dance Lab New York, Santa Barbara City College, Manhattanville College, and Dreyfoos School for the Arts. As an educator, Christian has taught nationally and internationally, serving on faculty for Modas Dance, Open Doors Dance Festival, EPIC Dance Utah, NEWdanceFEST, Kansas City Jazz Dance Fest, DanceWorks Chicago Dance360, AXIS Connect Los Angeles, Peridance Center, and SALT Dance Link Festival. He was selected for Kennesaw State University’s 2023 Summer Residency and Keshet Center for the Arts’ 2023 Makers Space Experience, won the University of South Florida’s 2015 Echo Choreographic Competition, and was a 2016 Joffrey Academy Winning Works choreographer. Christian also restages the work of Greek choreographer Andonis Foniadakis for companies across the U.S. and Europe, appeared in his productions “Salema Revisited” and “LENTO,” collaborated with filmmaker Alexander Sargent on the dance film Dwellings, and made his Broadway debut in The Little Prince in 2021.
