James Ihde

James Ihde, former soloist with Pennsylvania Ballet, teaches the fundamental building blocks of a traditional ballet barre to provide a challenging workout that will help build strength, flexibility, balance, and body awareness. Whether you are a complete beginner or have extensive dance training, this class will offer you a unique fitness experience while exploring the ballet vocabulary. This open class consists of a light stretching/warm-up routine followed by a challenging ballet barre that uses repetition to build muscular strength and endurance. All exercises are mirrored by the instructor safely on Zoom for easy learning, and modifications for all bodies and comfort levels are welcomed! Whatever your age or experience this class is for you!

Class Pricing
  • Single Class: $10
  • Unlimited Monthly Membership: $50, Good for 1 Month from Date of 1st Class

Unlimited Monthly Memberships may be used for any class on BalletX’s schedule.

How to Book Your Class


  • SIGN UP FOR A CLASS: Sign up for any BalletX live online class through Mindbody on our website, or on the Mindbody app by searching “BalletX.” *Registration in Mindbody will close 10 minutes before each class start time. 
  • DOWNLOAD ZOOM: We recommend you download Zoom for your mobile device or computer before your first class. You will not need to create a Zoom login, and you will not need to pay for a Zoom account.
  • CHECK YOUR EMAIL: You will receive an email with a direct link to your Zoom class approximately 15-30 minutes prior to class starting. This link can only be used once so please do not share with other students! Please use your link to arrive at Zoom 10-15 minutes early, and no later than 10 minutes after class has started. BalletX’s Studio Coordinator will be present to help with any technical difficulties prior to the start of class.

Class Attire

Casual, comfortable workout clothes and either barefeet, sticky socks,  or ballet slippers.


All classes are online only until we can safely dance together at the Center!
