Dance and Movement
Older Adults
No Experience Required
Sharon Friedler, Jon Sherman

This class is designed for older movers who still want to maintain an active lifestyle. Every class starts with its participants seated in chairs. From there, participants who are able, progress to standing barre work. Alternate sitting sequences are also provided for those who may need them. The class continues with some more stationary standing or seated sequences and concludes with across the floor dancing. The combinations provided are very versatile and work for people of varied abilities. Dance material is drawn from African, ballet, folk, modern, and social dance forms.  Both set sequences and improvisations are included.  If you are someone who enjoys dancing, but needs lower impact movement, this is the perfect class for you. Come join BalletX and connect with members of the community who share your interest in dance!
