This transition allows us to continue to support our great teachers and offer you excellent, joyful online experiences. Please find Frequently Asked Questions below to guide you through the Dance@Home virtual experience.
What are BalletX online classes?
BalletX online classes are live classes taught by our spectacular instructors via the Zoom app. We offer classes in Ballet, Contemporary, Barre Fitness, Vogue Femme, and special limited time classes taught by BalletX company dancers.
We offer 14 classes a week every day of the week. A single class is $15 and the monthly unlimited pass is $70. *NEW unlimited monthly recorded class access- see below:
How do I access your class recording selections?
When you purchase a monthly unlimited pass, you will gain access to a selection of class recordings for the duration of your pass. Your email address stored in Mindbody will be added to a Google Drive folder and you will receive an access link within 24 hours. The email will say, “firstname.lastname@example.org has invited you to view the following shared folder.”
Will there be new class recordings?
Whenever you purchase a new monthly pass, you’ll have access to a new selection of class recordings. You’ll receive a similar email as above within 24 hours of your purchase and be able to view these recordings for the duration of your new monthly pass.
Is there a membership fee?
There is no membership fee!
Do you offer any classes for free?
BalletX online classes are not free but we do offer a few free online class resources. You can find all of our free class content on our Instagram page @balletx.official and our IGTV.
Do you offer a student discount?
Yes! Please email Anne White at email@example.com to request an application.
What if this is my first class with BalletX online classes?
If this is your first class with BalletX online, greetings! We welcome dancers and movers of any and all kinds. Click HERE to see our class schedule and instructions on how to create a Mindbody account to purchase classes and where to download the free Zoom app.
How do I join the online classes?
Within 10 minutes before the start of class, you will receive an email from firstname.lastname@example.org with a personalized link to enter the class waiting room on Zoom. You will be able to join the class 5 minutes before it begins where you will be greeted by a BalletX Studio Coordinator to assist you in the waiting room. We recommend downloading the Zoom app on your computer before your first class, however, there is no need to create an account with Zoom. *Registration in Mindbody will close 10 minutes before each class start time.
What if I need to cancel my class reservation?
You can cancel your class reservation up to 2 hours before the class start time by contacting email@example.com.
Will everybody be able to see me in the class?
It is up to you! Your sound will be automatically muted upon entering the meeting to allow the instructor to be heard. You can choose to hide your video upon entering or turn it off at any time throughout the class.
How do I know if a class is right for me?
See the class description for the level explanation. Always read the class description before joining if you are unsure about which level you are most comfortable in.
How are the levels defined?
Each class specifies level indicating its relative difficulty. For example, Intro to Ballet is for a dancer who has never before taken a ballet class whereas Advanced Beginner Ballet is for a dancer who is more comfortable, familiar, and experienced with the ballet technique. The best way to decide is to try a class!
What if I am having trouble using Zoom?
Zoom is user-friendly! When you enter the meeting, a BalletX Studio Coordinator will be there to assist you with questions and issues. Simply click on the “chat” button at the bottom of your screen and when the chat box appears, you can message the coordinator. The Studio Coordinator will also quickly welcome all students and control settings during the class.
What should I wear for class?
Anything you are most comfortable to move in!
I don’t see an email in my inbox. What should I do?
The class link will be emailed to you from firstname.lastname@example.org 10 minutes before the start of the class. We ask that you please be sure to check your spam and promotions folders as well as double-check your Mindbody account to make sure you are enrolled in the correct class and your email is listed correctly in your account. If you are still unable to locate the email, you can email email@example.com with the subject line “Online Class Help” for assistance.* Please wait until at least 10 minutes prior to the class start time before emailing studio@balletx looking for an email.
