Annika Kuo is BalletX's Independence Foundation Dance Fellow.
Annika grew up in central New Jersey and began her extensive dance training at Princeton Ballet School, also known as American Repertory Ballet (ARB). She studied classical ballet, pointe, and pas de deux for 12 years. Annika also had the opportunity to study with renowned teachers such as Maria Youskevitch, Kathleen Moore, and Aydmara Cabrera. During her time at ARB, she danced numerous roles in classical ballets such as Bluebird in Sleeping Beauty and Clara in The Nutcracker. She also participated in numerous summer dance intensives with Dutch National Ballet, Chautauqua Institution, Bolshoi Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and BalletX. In 2018, after graduating from high school, Annika attended The Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where she broadened her knowledge of various dance techniques, including Graham, Limon, Horton, hip-hop, and improvisation. She has performed works by distinguished choreographers such as Daniel Pelzig, Ruka Hatua-Saar White, and William Isaac. Annika joined BalletX as an Independence Foundation Dance Fellow in 2021.
