Get ready to move, groove, and connect at the BalletX Sock Hop, a high-energy, feel-good evening built around music, movement, and shared joy.
This community-centered event combines guided instruction with open social dancing, making it fun and accessible for all levels. The night kicks off at 6:30pm with an interactive, beginner-friendly dance experience led by Jazz Attack, featuring foundational steps inspired by Lindy Hop, Swing, and Motown-style line dancing. Instruction is informal, upbeat, and participatory – you’ll be dancing right away, with plenty of chances to try the steps, ask questions, and move together.
Then, the studio transforms into a lively social dance floor with live music, inviting you to practice what you’ve learned, freestyle, and simply enjoy the rhythm in a relaxed, celebratory atmosphere. No partner or prior experience required. Come solo, bring a friend, or meet new people!
Take breaks throughout the evening to enjoy sweet treats, mingle with fellow dancers, and soak up the classic sounds and communal spirit of American social dance traditions. Come for the dancing, and stay for the laughter, connection, and joy. It’s a fun, low-pressure way to warm up your February and celebrate community through movement.
This event is for ages 14+. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
