BalletX will Pop Up at the tranquil refuge Grumblethorpe as part of Historic Germantown’s 2nd Saturday Series. Also performing is The Dream Team, featuring students from Dance eXchange, BalletX’s dance program in four Philadelphia Public Schools. The performances will be followed by a family dance class taught by dancer Bryant Lee. Grumblethorpe is an American Revolutionary War era historic site preserved by The Philadelphia Society for the Preservation of Landmarks to inspire people to learn about history and engage with their community. In addition to the notoriously blood-stained parlor floor–dating back to a Revolutionary War injury sustained by the home’s occupant at the time, British Brigadier-General James Agnew–the site is known for its horticultural delights, including a massive fruiting Ginkgo tree—reputed to have grown from a seedling brought from England in 1754, and considered the oldest in existence in America.
BalletX Pop Ups are generously supported by the William Penn Foundation.
