Takehiro Ueyama is an award-winning choreographer and the founder of TAKE Dance. Ueyama’s Heroes (2019), set to John Adams’ The Chairman Dances, is inspired by the citizens who played a crucial role in Japan’s recovery after World War II in a timeless story of dedication and perseverance. The Philadelphia premiere features original composition and live music by multi-instrumentalist and composer Kato Hideki.
