Em Godfrey is a korean nonbinary performing artist, educator, and choreographer in the Mid-Atlantic region. Their dance training began in Maryland, where they obtained a B.A. in Dance and Psychology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. During their time in the DMV area, Em performed and showcased their choreography at various establishments, including the John F. Kennedy Center, Dance Place, Baltimore Light Festival, and the Baltimore Theater Project. They continued their training with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Paul Taylor American Modern Dance, Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, and Philadelphia School for Circus Arts. Now residing in Philadelphia, Em has performed professionally at festivals and performances series with various companies such as Brian Sanders’ JUNK, Klassic Contemporary Ballet Company, Equilibrium Dance Company, and Yu.S.Artistry. They hope to continue performing, as well as educating future generations of dancers and other performing artists.
