One Dance, One Philly returns for BalletX’s 20th Anniversary Season, and we want the whole city dancing with us!
This citywide initiative brings people together through one joyful, easy-to-learn dance, welcoming participants of all backgrounds and experience levels. Throughout the spring, we will be teaching the choreography across Philadelphia, which will culminate in a huge group performance at the Festival at Highmark Mann in June.
This year, we’re inviting Philadelphia to learn the dance, film it, and post it for the chance to be featured in BalletX’s One Dance, One Philly video and win VIP tickets to the Festival! Keep reading to learn how to join the challenge.
What Is One Dance, One Philly?
One Dance, One Philly is a citywide movement that brings Philadelphia together through dance. Each year, BalletX creates a short dance that anyone can learn. Families, students, professionals, beginners, and experienced dancers are all welcome.
You can learn it on your own, with friends, at a workshop, at a pop-up event, or even at the Festival itself. Then, in June, hundreds of Philadelphians will come together to perform it as one community.
“When we move together, there is a sense of euphoria that helps us feel a little bit more hopeful in today’s world,” says our Rehearsal Director & Community Liaison, Keelan Whitmore. “One Dance, One Philly is for everyone. It unites us, strengthens us, and shows the world how strong the arts are in Philadelphia.”

We are inviting YOU to be part of this year’s One Dance, One Philly video, and you could win 2 VIP passes to BalletX’s Festival at Highmark Mann!
How to Participate:
- Learn the One Dance, One Philly choreography! You can learn the full piece, or just your favorite steps in your own style – whatever feels comfortable for you.
- Film yourself performing the dance. You can dance solo or with friends, family, classmates, or coworkers.
- Post your video on Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook.
- Tag @BalletX.
- Use the hashtag #OneDanceOnePhilly.
- Post by May 20.
How Winners Will Be Chosen:
BalletX will select winning videos based on:
- Joy and enthusiasm
- Creativity – make the dance your own!
- Community spirit
- Unique locations across Philadelphia
- Groups and collaborations are encouraged!
Selected Participants Will:
- Be featured in BalletX’s One Dance, One Philly video released in June
- Be entered to win 2 VIP passes to the Festival at Highmark Mann (June 4-5), which include premium seating, VIP access, BalletX merchandise, and a backstage tour
Winners will be announced in late May.

The One Dance, One Philly journey culminates in a huge group performance at BalletX’s Festival at Highmark Mann, June 4-5, where we will all dance together before the show as the sun sets over the Philadelphia skyline.
