Scales on the Wings of a Butterfly

Noelle Kayser’s Scales on the Wings of a Butterfly draws from microscopic photography and videography, taking inspiration from the intricate architecture of insect limbs, cellular activity, and diatom shells. The work invites audiences to consider the vast beauty and complexity that exist beyond the limits of human perception, and celebrate life’s richness at its smallest, most delicate scales.

"Noelle Kayser... almost invented her own genre of dance"
