Winter Series 2025

Winter Series 2025

Experience world premieres by former company dancer Caili Quan and Gregory Dawson, and the return of a Nicolo Fonte favorite.

Gregory Dawson, former LINES Ballet dancer, renowned educator, and founder of dawsondancesf, makes his BalletX debut with a world premiere characteristic of his ingenious style. His inspirational new work showcases original composition and live music by Philadelphia jazz pianist Luke Carlos O’Reilly and his band.

Caili Quan, former BalletX dancer who has been commissioned by New York City Ballet, The Juilliard School, and Ballet West, is known for her joyous, quirky, and musical choreography. After her 2022 BalletX premiere Love Letter, she returns with a vibrant new work inspired by timeless music from the 40s, 50s, and 60s.

Nicolo Fonte, renowned for his captivating fusion of ideas, dance, and design, has created four works for BalletX including the 2019 premiere Steep Drop, Euphoric. Thinking Dance hailed it as “gleefully dramatic and technically challenging…This is what dance can be, Fonte seems to be saying, and isn’t it glorious?”
