BalletX invites pre-professional dancers to expand their artistry, emotion and grace at the company’s annual in-depth dance training Intensives.

Dance Fellows

The BalletX Dance Fellowship is a competitive, season-long training program for up to four emerging dancers, designed to expand their experience as they transition into the professional world.

Demetrious Reed

Demetrious Reed is a 2019 graduate of the Joffrey Ballet School Trainee Program. He has attended multiple training intensives including the Pennsylvania Ballet Summer Intensive and Joffrey Ballet School Intensive, both on full scholarship.

Eli Alford

Eli Alford studied at Encore Performance Company in Birmingham, Alabama before receiving a full scholarship to attend the Alabama Ballet School where he studied under the direction of Roger VanFleteren and Tracey Alvey. He graduated with a BFA in Dance from the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance under the direction of Jodie Gates and William Forsythe, where he performed works by George Balanchine, Justin Peck, Merce Cunningham, and Dwight Rhoden.

Isabella Nova

Isabella Nova, originally from Bergamo, Italy, moved to the United States at age 14 to train with Pacific Northwest Ballet School under the direction of Peter Boal. After graduating from the school, Isabella was invited to be part of the Professional Division at PNB where she trained for two years. She has attended multiple training Summer Intensives, including San Francisco Ballet, Miami City Ballet, School of American Ballet, and The Washington Ballet Theater.

Kara Covaleski

Kara Covaleski grew up training in all styles of dance at California Dance Theater in Westlake Village, California. Following high school, Kara went on to become a trainee at Cincinnati Ballet where she was promoted to Cincinnati Ballet Second Company. During the pandemic, Kara spent time at San Diego Ballet as a company member while also teaching students at her home studio.
