BalletX featured choreographer

Jennifer Archibald

Jennifer Archibald is the founder and director of Arch Dance Company and a lecturer at Columbia and Yale Universities. Her upcoming world premiere marks the beginning of a two-year commission culminating in a full-length ballet in BalletX’s 2024-2025 season.

Choreographic Fellowship

Nicola Wills, BalletX’s 2024 Choreographic Fellow, will premiere her new ballet at Spring Series 2024. Nicola will work under the mentorship of choreographer Jennifer Archibald. The Choreographic Fellowship is made possible with generous support from the Wyncote Foundation, at the recommendation of David Haas.

Nicola Wills

Nicola Wills hails from Adelaide, South Australia. She has danced with Ballet Dortmund and Opera Ballet Vlaanderen (FKA: Royal Ballet of Flanders).

While continuing to dance and choreograph, Nicola is currently studying a part-time Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the University of South Australia, to aid her understanding of the human condition as she seeks to create nuanced work that is socially and emotionally relevant.

Jennifer Archibald

Jennifer Archibald is the founder and Artistic Director of the Arch Dance Company. She has choreographed for Atlanta Ballet, Ailey II, Oregon Ballet Theatre, Kansas City Ballet, Tulsa Ballet, Grand Rapids Ballet, Ballet West, Sacramento Ballet, and Pittsburgh Ballet, among many others.

Jennifer is currently an Acting Lecturer at the Yale School of Drama and was appointed as Guest Faculty Lecturer to develop the Hip Hop dance curriculum at Columbia/Barnard College.
