Amy Hall Garner

Amy Hall Garner reimagines the iconic ballet Petrushka for a modern audience in a stunning collaboration with Philadelphia Chamber Music Society featuring live music by ensemble132. Garner is BalletX’s Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation Choreographer-in-Residence and joins forces with renowned theater director Nancy Meckler, scenic and costume designer Emma Kingsbury, and lighting designer Christopher Ash for this visionary retelling.

Choreographic Fellowship

Christian Denice, BalletX’s 2025 Choreographic Fellow, will premiere his new ballet at BalletX in Bryn Mawr 2025 under the mentorship of choreographer Jamar Roberts. The Choreographic Fellowship is made possible with generous support from the Wyncote Foundation, at the recommendation of David Haas.

Christian Denice

Christian Denice is a Los Angeles–born dancer and choreographer commissioned by companies such as Cincinnati Ballet, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Ballet22, and Chamber Dance Project. Christian has restaged works internationally for choreographer Andonis Foniadakis. He is a 2016 Joffrey Winning Works choreographer, a 2023 Keshet Makers Space resident, and served as rehearsal director for ISHIDA Dance.

Jamar Roberts

Jamar Roberts has made works on Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, New York City Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, LA Dance Project, BalletX, Martha Graham Dance Company, and Vail Dance Festival, among many others. Other highlights include Works and Process Guggenheim, where he created the acclaimed short work on film entitled Cooped and A Chronicle of a Pivot at a Point in Time. He was named “25 to Watch” in 2007, and featured on the cover of Dance Magazine in 2013 and 2021.
