Meet Emily Morgan

Costume Designer

Emily Morgan is a designer whose work spans multiple genres. As Costume Director for Richmond Ballet her design credits include Realms of Amber, City Life, Polaris, Gloria, Portrait of Billie, An Open Letter…, Pas Glazunov, and Notturno among others. Prior to joining Richmond Ballet, Morgan designed for a number of dance projects, including Round My World for Parsons Dance (premiered at New York’s Joyce Theater), as well as Canvas, a world premiere for the Vail International Dance Festival with Keigwin and Co. featuring principals from New York City Ballet. Morgan has also designed for both opera and theatre. Her work has been featured in a wide variety of projects in New York City, regional theatres around the United States, as well as through international tours and collaborations. She holds an MFA from the University of California, San Diego.

Selected design work for dance includes projects with Jennifer Archibald, Levi Marsman, Tom Mattingly, Norbert De La Cruz III, Yury Yanowski, and David Parsons among others. Costume Direction and Design work includes Digital Media, TV, Opera, Regional Theatre, Off-Broadway (most notably for Daryl Roth Productions, The Working Theatre, and New Georges). International Design work includes The Physicists for The National Hungarian Theatre of Cluj, Romania. NY innovative Theatre award nominee for Best Costume Design of a Play (Angel Eaters).
