Meet Jeremy Birchall

Jeremy Birchall has written extensively for television, advertising and the stage, working on a variety of projects including Ripper Street (BBC 1/Amazon), Fortress Britain (Channel 4), and Elizabeth is Missing (BBC1).

Jeremy also scored Millie Inbetween (CBBC), Evermoor (Disney), Britain’s Most Historic Towns (Channel 4), Survivor (Banijay) and co-wrote scores for The Collection (Amazon) and Free Rein, (Netflix).

Jeremy is also known for his work in advertising; credits include Amazon Alexa, Sky, Barclays, Marks and Spencer, Morrisons, Capital One and several projects for Lenor Europe. He works frequently with many of London’s music supervision agencies.

His music can also be heard on programmes such as Blue Planet, Panorama, Grand Tour, Top Gear, and many more across all UK and international channels.

As a recording artist, Jeremy released his debut EP Music Comes To Us in 2021, available on all major streaming platforms.

He orchestrated An Inspector Calls for BBC 1, and previously has worked as an arranger/orchestrator for Downton Abbey (ITV), and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and EMI.

He has written four ballet scores: Nostalgia for Northern Ballet, performed at the Royal Opera House, and Catching Colour, a collaboration between English National Ballet and The Line. He released the music for both of these ballets in 2022.

Hungry Ghosts, a collaboration with choreographer Stina Quagebeur commissioned by The Joffrey Ballet in Chicago, will receive its world premiere in February 2024 at the Lyric Opera House.
