Based in London, Nancy Meckler is a freelance director of theatre, film, and dance. She ran Shared Experience Theatre, a UK touring company, for over 20 years and has directed for the Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare’s Globe.
Nancy first came to BalletX in 2019 when she worked as dramaturg for The Little Prince with choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa. She later collaborated with Nicolo Fonte on Sidd: A Hero’s Journey. This new version of Petrushka is her first artistic collaboration with Amy Hall Garner. For Film Four, Nancy has directed two feature films: Sister My Sister and Indian Summer, a film about a dancer, winner of the Audience Award at the London Film Festival.
