Meet Jonathan Montepara

Jonathan Montepara, from Orsogna, Italy, trained at the Rome Ballet School, and danced for the Rome Ballet Junior Company. In 2018, he joined the American Repertory Ballet where he was featured in many classical and contemporary works. He premiered Kirk Peterson’s Beauty and the Beast, Riccardo de Nigris’s Beyond the Normal, Colby Damon Strange Sentience, Ethan Stiefel’s A Midsummer Nights Dream, Moving to Bach by Ja’Malik and Circadia by Caili Quan.

Jonathan has worked with international choreographers and répétiteures such as Trey McIntyre, José M Carreño, Ana Novoa and Sean Mahoney. In 2020, he performed The Nutcracker Grand Pas de Deux with the Princeton Symphony Orchestra for the Annual Holiday Concert, broadcasted worldwide. Jonathan joined BalletX in 2022, performing works by Justin Peck, Matthew Neenan, Jennifer Archibald, Amy Seiwert, Tiler Peck and world premieres by Caili Quan and Amy Hall Garner.
