Meet Mark Eric

Costume Designer

Mark Eric is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and now resides in New York City, where he designs and constructs costumes and made-to-order fashion. He trained as a fashion designer at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where he was recognized as the Critics’ Choice among his graduating class. After years of designing for several New York City fashion houses, he discovered his passion for costuming and transitioned into primarily designing and styling for the stage. He enjoys bringing his fashion sensibility to his design, employing artisanal techniques when creating his signature costumes.

Mark Eric has designed costumes for a diverse roster of choreographers including: Robert Battle, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Rennie Harris, Amy Hall Garner, Robbie Fairchild, Stefanie Batten Bland, Andrew McNicol, and Marguerite Donlon to name a few. He has costumed works for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theater, BalletX, Ballet Hispanico, Ailey II, and the ABT Studio Company, among others. His upcoming collaborations include new works with Amy Hall Garner for Paul Taylor Dance Company and Gustavo Ramirez Sansano for Gibney Dance Company. Follow along on Instagram @MARKERICdesign
